Butchers' Bridge Ljubljana

Also known as Mesarski most

Butcher's Bridge opened in 2010 and within a few years had acquired so many love padlocks on its railings that the city had to remove them for structural reasons, twice, and they kept coming back.

Butcher’s Bridge (Mesarski most) is a modern pedestrian bridge opened in 2010, connecting Ljubljana’s Central Market to the opposite embankment of the Ljubljanica. Bronze sculptures by Jakov Brdar include a Prometheus chained beneath the span and a satyr above. Free and open at all hours; centrally located next to Plečnik’s Central Market arcade. Pair with a walk along the embankment toward the Dragon Bridge and Triple Bridge.
