The Burggarten is Vienna’s former imperial private garden, opened to the public in 1919, sitting between the Hofburg and the Ringstrasse. The Art Nouveau Palmenhaus (1901) houses a cafe and tropical butterfly house. Free entry; Palmenhaus and Schmetterlinghaus have their own hours and prices. The Mozart memorial is in the garden. U-Bahn Karlsplatz, or short walk from the Albertina.
