Ebnit is a Walser village in the mountains above Dornbirn in Vorarlberg, reached by a narrow mountain road or hiking trails (2–3 hours on foot via the Gütle gorge). The Walser people colonized high-altitude alpine terrain across the western Alps from the 13th century onward, establishing settlements with a distinctive architectural and cultural identity. Free to visit; half-day excursion from Dornbirn. The road passes through the Rappenlochschlucht gorge, which combines well with the Ebnit visit.
