The YoHo International Youth Hostel is Salzburg’s most established budget hostel, located in the Neustadt district about 15 minutes on foot from the old town. Dorms from approximately EUR 20 to 30 per night. The location in the Neustadt is practical: walkable to everything, with a bus connection from the Hauptbahnhof, and at a price point that cannot be matched by any accommodation in or adjacent to the old town. The hostel runs a nightly Sound of Music show and its own walking tours. Book ahead for summer, especially July and August when the Salzburg Festival brings accommodation to full capacity across the city. The Neustadt itself has more to see than most visitors realize: Mirabellgarten, the Dreifaltigkeitskirche, and the Makartplatz are all within a few minutes walk.
