Winterstaude

The Winterstaude at 1,878 meters is the prominent peak above Bezau in the Bregenzerwald, accessible by a hiking trail from the village or via the Bezauer Bergbahn gondola to the Baumgarten midstation. The summit view encompasses the Bregenzerwald valley system, Lake Constance (Bodensee) to the north, and the main Vorarlberg alpine ranges to the south.

The Winterstaude (1,878 m) above Bezau in the Bregenzerwald is the local summit hike of Vorarlberg’s architecturally significant valley, reachable by trail from the village or via the Bezauer Bergbahn gondola to the Baumgarten midstation (approximately EUR 12-15 return). The summit looks north over Lake Constance and south across the Vorarlberg Alps. Bezau is 35 km from Bregenz by Bus 40 (40 minutes). Combine with the Werkraum Bregenzerwald craft collective in Andelsbuch, 5 km down the valley.
