Above Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein, the ruins of Wildschloss stand on a forested ridge with a view down the Rhine valley into Austria and Switzerland. The castle dates to the 12th century and was one of several medieval fortifications that controlled the Rhine crossings at this narrow point where three countries now meet.

There are no facilities and nothing to interpret at the ruin itself, but the combination of medieval stonework, forest path, and a panorama across three countries makes this a better afternoon outing than anything in Vaduz town center.
