The Wiedersbergerhorn at 2,127 meters is the summit above Alpbach in Tyrol, reached by the Alpbacher Bergbahnen cable car. Alpbach is the village below, an all-wood Tyrolean farmhouse settlement that has been voted Austria’s most beautiful village and has maintained its traditional architecture through deliberate community standards since the mid-20th century. The summit gives views across the Inn valley and connects to hiking routes through the Kitzbüheler Alpen toward the Ziller valley. Cable car operates June to October and December to April; check alpbachtal.at for times and prices. Alpbach is 15 minutes by bus from Brixlegg, which is on the Innsbruck-Kufstein railway line. Worth spending an hour in the village before taking the cable car.
