Weikartmühle

The Weikartmühle is a historic grain mill in the Alpbach valley, a surviving piece of the agricultural infrastructure that supported the valley’s farming community before industrial milling replaced local mills. Alpbach’s architectural conservation tradition, which kept all buildings in traditional Tyrolean wooden style, preserved structures like this that were demolished in most other valleys. Check locally for visiting hours and access. Alpbach is 20 minutes by bus from Brixlegg on the Inn Valley main rail line. Combine with the village itself, whose wood-architecture preservation is the main reason to visit.
