Wälderbähnle

The Wälderbähnle runs 6 km of the former Bregenzerwaldbahn narrow-gauge line (built 1902) between Bezau and Bersbuch, operated as a museum railway on selected summer days. The original 35-km line connected the Bregenzerwald villages to Bregenz until its closure in 1980-1983 when roads took over. The ride passes through dense Bregenzerwald forest and farmland with the valley mountain backdrop. Check waelderbaehnle.at for current operating days and fares before planning. Bezau is 40 minutes from Bregenz by car or regional bus. Combine with the Werkraum Bregenzerwald craft museum in the same area.
