The Vogtturm is a medieval tower, roughly 1,000 years old, in the center of Zell am See, housing the local Heimatmuseum (regional history collection). Vogt was the medieval term for a feudal administrator; the tower records the town’s history as an administrative center long before it became a lake resort. About EUR 4-6 entry; open in summer season. Short walk from the lakefront. A useful first stop before spending time on the Zeller See.
