The Villacher Alpenstrasse is a 16.5-kilometer toll road ascending the Dobratsch (2,166 m) above Villach, with viewpoints overlooking Carinthia, the Karawanken range, the Dolomites, and the Slovenian Julian Alps on a clear day. Open May to October; toll approximately EUR 12 per car. Multiple viewpoint stops, a botanical alpine garden on the upper section, and a nature reserve status that protects the surrounding area.
