Tausendjahrige Eiche

The Tausendjährige Eiche near Bad Blumau is one of the oldest oak trees in Austria, its trunk measuring several meters in circumference. Whatever its exact age, a tree this large in the rolling agricultural landscape of eastern Styria is a genuinely striking natural landmark: it has been growing since at least the medieval period in a landscape that was otherwise cleared for farming centuries ago.
