The Szechenyi Thermal Bath in Budapest’s City Park is the largest thermal bath complex in Europe and the only major historic bath on the Pest side of the Danube. Three outdoor pools and fifteen indoor pools are fed by thermal springs from wells drilled to over 1,200 meters. The Neo-Baroque yellow building opened in 1913. Daily admission runs around EUR 25-30; book online at szechenyibath.hu on weekends. Open daily from 6:00. Reach it by metro line M1 (yellow line) to Szechenyi furdo station. Allow at least 2-3 hours. The outdoor pools are best on cool days when the steam atmosphere is at its peak.
