Stubnerkogel

The Stubnerkogel cable car rises from the center of Bad Gastein to 2,246 meters, and at the summit a 140-meter suspension bridge crosses a gorge with nothing beneath you but alpine air. It is one of the more dramatic summit installations in the Austrian Alps and the main reason non-skiers visit Bad Gastein in summer.

The Stubnerkogel cable car rises from central Bad Gastein to 2,246 meters, and at the summit a 140-meter suspension bridge crosses a gorge with dramatic drops on both sides. It is the main summer attraction above Bad Gastein and one of the most striking summit installations in the Austrian Alps. Round trip cable car costs around EUR 25-30; included in the Gastein ski pass in winter. Panoramic views over the Hohe Tauern National Park on clear days. Allow 2-3 hours. Pairs naturally with the Gasteiner Wasserfall waterfall in the valley and with Sportgastein for a full Gastein day.
