The Stubaier Hoehenweg is a multi-day high-altitude hiking circuit through the Stubai Alps, typically completed in four to seven days with overnight stays in staffed mountain huts. The trail stays above 2,000 meters through most of its length and traverses the glaciated main ridge terrain of the Eastern Alps without requiring technical climbing skills. Best July to September; hut reservations essential in peak season. Starting point at Neustift or Fulpmes in the Stubaital, 30-40 minutes from Innsbruck by Bus 590. Austrian Alpine Club (Alpenverein) membership significantly reduces hut costs.
