Stift St. Florian, 18 km southeast of Linz, is the largest Augustinian monastery in Austria. Anton Bruckner served here as organist from 1848 to 1855 and is buried beneath the organ in the Brucknerorgel crypt. The guided tour covers the Marble Hall, Baroque library, Altdorfer Gallery (panels from a 1518 altarpiece), and the church interior. Guided tours run daily April-October, approximately EUR 12-14. By bus from Linz Hauptbahnhof in about 30 minutes. Allow 1.5-2 hours.
