The Schlosspark Laxenburg is a 280-hectare English landscape park with artificial lakes, grottos, and the Franzensburg, a neo-Gothic castle on an island built between 1798 and 1836 by Emperor Franz II as a display of Habsburg medieval heritage. Park free and open year-round; Franzensburg accessible by boat May to October, approximately EUR 10-15; check schloss-laxenburg.at for current schedule.
