Ruine Pongowe is a 12th-century castle ruin above Bischofshofen in the Pongau, the valley town that hosts one stage of the annual Vierschanzentournee ski jumping tournament every January. The ruin is freely accessible on a short walk from the town. Bischofshofen is on the Tauern railway line, direct from Salzburg. Combine with the Liechtensteinklamm gorge nearby.
