The Roemerturm in Tulln is a 4th-century Roman watchtower from the Comagena legionary fort, one of the better-preserved surviving elements of the Danube limes frontier system. Tulln also claims the Nibelungenlied meeting of Kriemhild and Etzel and is the birthplace of Egon Schiele. The tower, the Roman museum (Marc Aurel-Park 1b), and the Schiele museum make a complete Tulln day. S-Bahn from Vienna 35 minutes.
