A small, locally used swimming lake on the edge of Saalfelden in the Pinzgau valley. Clean water, mountain backdrop, free or low-cost access, and significantly quieter than the larger Salzkammergut lakes. Saalfelden is on the Salzburg-Zell am See rail line; the lake is walkable from the town center. Best in the first half of summer before the nearby resorts fill with peak-season visitors.
