Portlerhorn

The Portlerhorn is a summit in the Bregenzerwald mountains above Dämüls-Mellau in Vorarlberg, rising above the ski and hiking area served by the Mellau-Damüls lifts. Dämüls holds a claim to being the snowiest inhabited place in the Alps, with average annual snowfall that exceeds most Austrian ski resorts by a considerable margin.

Lift-assisted access in winter; summer hiking from the valley or the Mellau-Damüls gondola system. By car from Bregenz approximately 1 hour. The Bregenzerwald is quieter than the Arlberg and attracts visitors who prefer less-commercialized mountain terrain.
