Pfänderbahn

The Pfänderbahn cable car has operated from central Bregenz to the 1,064-meter Pfänder summit since 1927. The 7-minute ride covers the entire altitudinal range from Lake Constance waterfront to alpine mountain, giving one of Europe’s more dramatic short cable car experiences. The four-country panorama (Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein) at the top is clear on good days; the free Alpine Wildlife Park is worth the visit in any weather.
