The Pfänder rises 1,064 meters directly above Bregenz, and the summit view covers Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein in a single panorama across Lake Constance. The Pfaenderbahn cable car from central Bregenz takes 7 minutes; the free Alpine Wildlife Park at the top is worth the time. Pfaender.at has the current schedule and fares. Allow a half day to combine the cable car, the wildlife park, and a summit walk. Best on a clear day when the four-country panorama is in full view.
