Odeonsplatz

Grand square at the southern end of Ludwigstrasse, framed by the Theatinerkirche, the Feldherrnhalle, and the entrance to the Hofgarten. The Feldherrnhalle was modeled on the Loggia dei Lanzi in Florence and is historically significant as the site of Hitler's failed 1923 Beer Hall Putsch.

Odeonsplatz is the grand square at the southern end of Ludwigstrasse in Munich, framed by the Theatinerkirche, the Feldherrnhalle, and the entrance to the Hofgarten. The Feldherrnhalle was modeled on Florence’s Loggia dei Lanzi by Ludwig I and completed 1844. The square is also where Bavarian State Police stopped Hitler’s 1923 Beer Hall Putsch, a history now carried entirely by knowledge rather than markers. U-Bahn U3/U6 direct. The Muenchner Residenz is immediately adjacent.
