The Museum für Volkskultur at Burgplatz 1 in Spittal an der Drau occupies Schloss Porcia, Carinthia’s finest Renaissance palace with a three-story arcaded Italian-style courtyard built around 1600 by the Salamanca-Ortenburg family. The museum documents upper Drau valley folk culture and has been in the palace since 1958. Spittal is 30 minutes by train from Villach.
