The route descends from 1,100m alpine meadows through Styria’s industrial heartland and vineyard hills to the southeastern plain, covering the full geographic range of the Mur valley in 7 to 12 days. It is waymarked throughout and well-served by rail for point-to-point logistics. Start at St Michael im Lungau (Salzburg province) and end at Bad Radkersburg, or pick up individual sections from Bruck an der Mur or Graz.
