The Mozart Residence at Makartplatz 8 in Salzburg’s Neustadt is the family’s second home, where they lived from 1773. Less visited than the birthplace at Getreidegasse, the museum focuses on Mozart’s later Salzburg years, Leopold’s career as court musician, and the family letters that document the household’s daily life. The audio guide uses original correspondence and is the best way to experience the site. Combination tickets with Mozarts Birthplace cover both museums. Allow 1 hour; 5 minutes on foot from Mirabellplatz.
