Maria-Theresien-Strasse is Innsbruck’s main boulevard, running south from the Altstadt with the Nordkette mountain range, rising over 2,000 meters, framed directly at its northern end. The Baroque facades, the Annasaeule red marble column (1706), and the mountain backdrop create one of the most distinctive urban views in Austria. The street is free and always accessible, with trams running along its length.
