A 125 km long-distance trail following the Lech, one of the last undammed wild rivers in the Alps, from Formarinsee near Lech am Arlberg in Austria to Füssen in Bavaria. The trail opened in 2012; best walked June to October over 7-9 days. Mountain hut accommodation must be booked ahead. Sections work well as day hikes. Check lechweg.com for stages and hut booking.
