Landhausviertel

Sankt Pölten's Regierungsviertel, or government quarter, is one of the most concentrated examples of late 20th-century institutional architecture in Austria.

Sankt Pölten’s government quarter was built in the 1990s after Lower Austria broke from Vienna to establish its own provincial capital, the only Austrian province ever to share a capital with the federal city. The concentrated modernist complex houses the state parliament, galleries, and a major concert hall. Outdoor areas always accessible; 15-minute walk from the train station.
