The Kremser Tor is the 15th-century eastern gate tower into Dürnstein’s walled village in the Wachau, the entry point to one of the most intact medieval village streets in Lower Austria. Free; always accessible. Combine with the Augustinian abbey (Stift Dürnstein) and the ruined castle above where Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned in 1192. Dürnstein is reachable by boat from Krems in summer.
