12th-century storage tower on Bischofshofen’s Rathausplatz in the Salzburg Pongau, one of the oldest surviving structures in the valley. The tower served the episcopal administration that gave the town its name (Bischofshofen: Bishop’s Courtyard). Now houses a local museum. Bischofshofen is better known as the site of the Four Hills Tournament ski jumping finale each January; the Kastenturm provides the medieval backstory. Bischofshofen is 45 minutes from Salzburg by train.
