Museum dedicated to Karl Heinrich Waggerl (1897-1973), one of the most widely read Austrian authors of the 20th century, known for rural novels set in the Pongau and for Christmas stories including “Brot” (1930). The museum presents his manuscripts and the Wagrain world he documented. Note: Waggerl’s enthusiasm for National Socialism in the 1930s and 1940s is part of his biography; his postwar rehabilitation followed the general Austrian pattern.
