Munich’s Jüdisches Museum on Sankt-Jakobs-Platz, opened 2007 alongside the Ohel Jakob synagogue, documents Jewish life in Munich from the medieval period to the present with exhibitions that connect history to contemporary relevance. A 32-meter underground Path of Remembrance names the 4,500 Munich Jews murdered in the Holocaust. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00; EUR 7 adults. U-Bahn to Marienplatz or Sendlinger Tor. The museum is part of the new Jewish Cultural Center built on a site the Nazi city government deliberately cleared in 1938.
