Holzknechtland

The Holzknechtland is a themed outdoor activity park on the Buergeralpe above Mariazell, centered on the historical figure of the Alpine woodcutter (Holzknecht). Toboggan run, zip line, high ropes course, and interpretive forest-work elements. Accessible by the Buergeralpe cable car from Mariazell town center. Open summer season; check buergeralpe.at for hours and prices. Mariazell is on the UNESCO-listed Mariazellerbahn narrow-gauge railway from St. Poelten. Combine with the Mariazell Basilica and a Buergeralpe hike.
