The Hohe Gloriette is a hilltop viewpoint pavilion above Poertschach am Woerthersee giving panoramic views over the Woerthersee and the southern Alpine rim of Carinthia. Free access; 1-1.5 hours round trip from Poertschach. Poertschach is on the Klagenfurt-Salzburg rail line. Johannes Brahms composed his Second Symphony here in the 1870s. Combine with a walk along the northern shore and a lake swim; the Woerthersee reaches 26-28 degrees Celsius in summer.

Hohe Gloriette
