Innsbruck’s Hofgarten is the former imperial garden north of the Hofburg palace, originally laid out in the 15th century and redesigned as an English landscape park in 1858. Free entry; always accessible. The view north from inside the park to the 2,334-meter Nordkette mountain rising directly behind the trees is one of the most dramatic urban-alpine compositions in Austria.
