Hangar 7 at Salzburg Airport is a free-entry glass-and-steel hangar built by Red Bull in 2003 to house its Flying Bulls aircraft collection, Formula 1 cars, and rotating contemporary art exhibitions. The curved glass building by Volkmar Burgstaller makes the aircraft visible from outside at night. Inside, Restaurant Ikarus hosts a different world-class guest chef every month, requiring advance reservations and carrying a price tag to match. The exhibition areas are free and open daily 9:00-22:00. Bus line 10 from Salzburg Hauptbahnhof. Worth combining with Hellbrunn Palace nearby. This is one of Austria’s most unusual free attractions: aircraft, contemporary art, and one of the country’s better restaurants, all in the same building.
