The Gruner Ring at Lech am Arlberg is a three-stage circular hiking trail network using the summer cable cars as transport, connecting different elevations and terrain types around the Arlberg valley in Vorarlberg. Each stage is 3 to 5 hours; the full circuit takes 3 days. Summer cable cars run from late June to early October. Lech is 15 minutes by bus from Langen am Arlberg rail station. The village, Austria’s most famous ski resort, is quieter in summer; accommodation prices drop and the Arlberg hiking terrain is accessible without snow.
