Gosaukammbahn

The Gosaukammbahn is a cable car from the Gosausee lake in the Gosau Valley to the Zwieselalm at 1,700 meters, with views over the Gosaukamm ridge and the Dachstein glacier above. The Gosaukamm is the dramatic rock spine that forms the western wall of the Dachstein massif, with vertical limestone faces rising from the alp above the tree line.

The Gosaukammbahn cable car from the Gosausee lake in Gosau reaches the Zwieselalm at 1,700 meters, with the vertical Gosaukamm limestone ridge and the Dachstein glacier visible above. The alp provides starting points for high-altitude walks with the dramatic rock faces throughout. Half day: cable car, Zwieselalm walk, cable car back. Bus from Bad Ischl (30 minutes) reaches Gosau village. The Gosausee below is one of the better composed lake views in the Salzkammergut: rock, glacier, and lake surface together in a single frame.
