The Giardino Giusti is a Renaissance garden from 1580 on the hillside east of the Adige, considered one of the finest historic gardens in Italy. Goethe visited in 1786 and wrote about the cypress trees, some of which are still standing. The lower formal parterres give way to a wilder upper hillside with grottoes and views over Verona. Entry around EUR 10; open daily 9am-8pm in summer. Fifteen minutes on foot east from the Arena di Verona across the Ponte Navi bridge.
