Galerie Gugging near Klosterneuburg shows and sells Art Brut (outsider art) produced at the psychiatric institution at Gugging, where psychiatrist Leo Navratil began giving materials to visually talented patients in the 1970s. Artists including Johann Hauser, August Walla, and Oswald Tschirtner produced work that became internationally collected and is now in major museums. The gallery opened in 2006 on the same campus where artists still live and work. 25 minutes by S-Bahn from Vienna Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof. Admission fee; check galeriegugging.com for hours.
