The Furstenstieg (Princes’ Way) is Liechtenstein’s premier Alpine hiking trail, crossing the ridge above Vaduz with panoramic views over the Rhine Valley toward Switzerland and Austria. The route takes 4-5 hours, involves exposed sections with fixed cables, and requires proper hiking boots and reasonable fitness. Free, accessible spring through autumn. Trailhead above Vaduz; buses run from the center. The trail provides the best single overview of the entire principality, with Vaduz Castle visible below throughout much of the route.
