The Mondseer Rauchhaus is an original 1616 farmhouse at Hilfberg 6, Mondsee, with no chimney, where smoke vented through the roof and blackened the interior beams over four centuries. Open-air museum since 1957 and one of the best-preserved traditional alpine farmsteads in Austria. Open May to October; budget admission; check mondsee.at for exact hours.
