The Four Seasons Gresham Palace is Budapest’s definitive luxury hotel, occupying an Art Nouveau palace from 1906 at the Pest end of the Chain Bridge. The lobby’s original Zsolnay tiles, mosaic floors, and wrought iron peacock gates make it one of the finest interiors in the city and worth visiting regardless of whether you are staying. The building was the Budapest headquarters of the Gresham Life Assurance Company, stood derelict through the Communist era, and was completely restored when it opened as a Four Seasons in 2004. Rooms from EUR 400; restaurant and bar available for non-guests. Metro Line 1 to Vorosmarty ter.
