The Faaker See is a warm-water swimming lake 10 km south of Villach, backed by the sharp profile of the Mittagskogel mountain. The Faaker See sits just 10 minutes south of Villach with the Mittagskogel rising sharply behind the southern shore, which makes it one of the most photographed lake silhouettes in Carinthia (Austria's southernmost province, bordering Slovenia and Italy).
