The Erzweg Kupfer is a marked hiking trail in the Bischofshofen area following the landscape of Bronze Age copper mining. The Mitterberg mines above the valley were among Central Europe’s largest copper producers from approximately 1800-800 BC. The trail connects surviving slag heaps, mine openings, and extraction pits within the Erz der Alpen UNESCO Global Geopark. Free to walk; always accessible; half to full day.
