The Dachstein Seilbahn is the cable car connecting Ramsau am Dachstein to the glacier station at 2,700 meters. It is the gateway to the Sky Walk, the Hängebrücke (suspension bridge), and the Eispalast (Ice Palace). Originally built to serve year-round glacier skiing, the cable car now primarily serves summer visitors drawn to the altitude experiences at the upper station. The ascent over the glacier edge is dramatic in itself. Ramsau is 10 km from Schladming by car or regional bus.
