The Hofkirche in Innsbruck was built to house the cenotaph of Emperor Maximilian I, guarded by 28 larger-than-life bronze figures known as the Schwarze Mander. The ensemble is one of the most important Renaissance sculptural programs in Europe. Maximilian is actually buried in Wiener Neustadt.
