Burgruine Rauheneck

Burgruine Rauheneck above Baden bei Wien has a triangular tower, an unusual defensive form that gave the castle its distinctive silhouette on the ridge above the Helenental valley. Together with Burgruine Rauhenstein further up the valley, it formed a pair of fortifications that controlled the approach to Baden from the south.
